Quite a few rounds are known by different names to different users, and sometimes there are significant differences, such as between the civilian .308 and the military 7.62mm NATO. I'm not going to worry about the odd millimetre, but some designations are misleading. You know that .38 and .357 pistol rounds are te same diameter?
