I figured out the email problem, (wrong info in a screen cap at Earthlink), so I can send email at least,  but I still can't attach anything other than a text file. I tried sending a small jpg but it keeps getting stuck at 49% and timing out. Same thing happens trying to upload to an ftp.

Stepdad ,  thanks for the info, the ports seem like they could be the culprit,  I'll give that a go.
