**and two weeks later.... third re-load, because my upgraded xp ...well never mind... I bought the FULL xp, then my anti-virus suite I chose...well never mind... STILL working at it all!!.... (some days just depressed), but on days I work with the machine, my OLD mind is learning NEW tricks, when I have to "do it all myself" with just phone help from my son, as he can't come back here right now... oooo my!

and fyi... did a "repair" of Vista and all it did was RELOAD IT ALL and at first things worked better, till things started to glitch up (the reload did not hurt, programs - helped them at first)... BUT you have to reload the main drivers again - motherboard, video etc...

Learned the hard way a restore point in vista WILL TAKE OUT THE PROGRAMS YOU INSTALLED after that point too!!.... I did not realize that so now using those restore points only during install, like "before windows updates" before IE7, after this and that... and then WHEN THE THING WORKS THE WAY I WANT AND STAYS SO FOR AT LEAST A WEEK, I'LL DO A RESTORE POINT THEN ! - to keep my OS and software safer... !

I think it was way back at win2k that had a "real" repair that looked for corrupted system files... but anyway... my dyslexic brain does NOT want a duel boot system.... shudder when my son told me how to set that up, I nearly cried... you have no idea when you honestly do not know your left and right and words are not what they appear to be,etc....

I THINK I am "almost home"... I went shopping here a little and really want to shop at the e-on store ... but ... well.... my brain is frazzeled! (I almost lost my router settings and one install I forgot to have it all plugged in!! sheesh!! DUH!! How can my poor windows and motherboard drivers know what to load when I don't have it plugged in? ah well... I hope all my lessons (and a million post notes!) STICK!! :)
