It's currently my understanding that Lightwave support is supposed to appear at some future date. We'll see whether or not that ever actually happens.
LW was one of the apps listed as being supported by Poser Pro upon the original announcement. However, when the Poser Pro specs were listed several weeks later, Lightwave was conspicuously absent from the list. This fact started up a heated thread over on Newtek's board -- with the thread initiator complaining about Poser Pro dropping support for LW, while others responded with the point that Poser is all garbage anyway, so why be bothered about Poser Pro's not supporting LW?
We were left with the implication that Lightwave support will be forthcoming sometime down the road. That might or might not actually happen. Who knows?
My own biggest disappointment with Poser Pro was the silent dropping of support for Lightwave. Unlike some others, I'm perfectly willing to part with $500 if the program did what I wanted it to do. I have to admit that without LW support, it's less attractive. But I also have to admit that LW support isn't a deal-breaker for me: it's just a downside. shrug You don't always get everything that you want. I certainly never have. You go forward, regardless of that fact.
BTW - Poser 7 is by far and away the #1 version of Poser currently installed among the user base. So those who have chosen to stick with an earlier version of Poser (for whatever reasons) are in a minority. It's a fine thing & perfectly legitimate to make that choice for personal reasons -- but it's not something to get self-consciously self-righteous about. It's just a choice in 3D software -- and such choices aren't moral issues.
