I think you are way ahead of things on this.. you realize that UV unwrapping for textures is just a few years old? That poser's rigging is VASTLY different (and anceint) compared with what you see in pro applcations, and that they are just adding things like soft body an bone dynamics themselves?

I have a hard time thinking that auto rigging should already be available anywhere, when the actual rigging itself is still being advanced every year.

While you could set up a basic humanoid bone rig, That would severely limit how somethiong could be modeled for it.

Think of something like the Cloverfield monster... who could anticipate a rig for something like that? The beauty of 3d, is anything is possible, and many people try exactly that.. anything.

Maybe 5 or 10 years down the road we'll see something like this, but I doubt much sooner then that, and whatever might be attempted will have so many restrictions as to be unattractive to professionals.
