I really don't understand why you keep going on about this.
Renderosity is a business pure and simple. They care about their bottom line. If this site doesn't bring in money, the business fails.
Offering deep discounts and bonus offers to first time buyers is a well known marketing tool that all businesses use from your hydro company to your cable company to the car dealership down the street.
A business depends on repeat customers, but they also depend on new customers. A company can't stay in business without increasing their customer base. In order to increase that customer base they need to advertise, target a market, give them an offer and watch the money flow in.
In this case Renderosity is targeting those who have never bought from this site before. They made them a 35% discount off of everything in the store.
While you may not like it, it's good business sense on their part.
If you really want to get up in arms about something, there are far more important issues in the world to get on a soap box about: World hunger, war, poverty, slavery, child exploitation... take your pick.
TBH I think you are making way to big of a deal over a company doing what they can to stay afloat in a competitive industry.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
