V 4.0 has a different .obj from V 4.1 or V4.2. The suggestions at DAZ were, uninstall V 4.0 and V4.1 before installing V 4.2. The recommendation is to load V4.2 to your main Poser or D/S runtime. The DAZ people say that having more than one V 4.X obj can cause problems. As usual there are exceptions.
If you have saved work using V 4.0 do not uninstall that figure or your saved work will not load.
If you did not install with an uninstall option, and still have the installation files, you can re-install with the uninstall option and then uninstall.
V 4.2 will overwrite V4.1 if installed to the same runtime. but not V 4.0. If you do not want to uninstall V4.1 DAZ says you can still install V 4.2, and the installer should overwrite the files it needs to and work properly anyway.
If you have Morphs++, Muscle Morphs, and/or Creature Morphs, you will still need to download and install an update for THESE morph packages. Everything else should work (fingers crossed).
If you use DAZ Studio you will need to upgrade it before installing V 4.2. An upgrade file should be in your Availible Download page.
V 4.2 now injects the figure's morphs so don't forget to inject them or characters, FBM, etc. will not work.
That's all I can think of. Anyone else?
