I've noticed that whether or not dynamic hair looks "thin" has a LOT to do with the angle you're viewing it in. I've seen some commercial dynamic hairs who has a "rim" of very dense hair to mask the spots that would otherwise appear thin.

Zenman53186 uses that technique. I've got all of his(?) hair and they're all awesome!
