Yes, I agree, most of the disorganization comes from the downloaded content itself going all over the place. However, Daz never had any real kind of structure in place like Poser has with the runtime directory. characters in one designated place, props in another, poses here, textures there etc. Usually when it comes to Daz content, I wind up moving it around, and opening, fixing and re-saving into the new directories I make to organize it all.
Come to think of it, there is a folder template for Daz content here in Rendo Freestuff somewhere.
