Lighting can often make a lot of difference, have you looked at the interesting IBL/HDR thread in the forum?

I'd also say that the real top artists seem to use a lot of detail to create their masterpieces, either painted artistic detail as in the faces, or faces and bodies of figures in their work, or else detail in the backgrounds, foregrounds and main focus if they are scenic rather than figure artists.

I keep telling myself that, so that's what I'm trying to improve on - adding more detail.

I've added the link to the HDRI thread, the multiple advisories is just for the scantily clad female, so don't worry about that, I think Rosemaryr just didn't want to offend anyone unnecessarily. - there is actually no infringement of Rendo's TOS at all.

So those two seem to be the two main things to look for, there are lots of others I know, but those two are fairly obvious on first impact:

Lighting and Detail.

Oh the IBL Lighting thread is in the Bryce Forum, but Bryce and Daz are intercontected anyway - and lighting is still important in Daz even if you're rendering in there.

Um, can DAZ use hdri's?
