i agree with just about everything JoePublic said, though not necessarily the same emotion.  A4 is a set of morphs for V4.  from everything i've seen, many clothes do not work for the same reason Wardrobe Wizard, Tailor, and other conversion tools are popular: custom morphs are beyond a many users' ability to accomodate.  and i noticed from the beginning that V4 seemed to be based on Aiko, because she lacks vital details in areas that made no sense to eliminate when making a human figure, especially one thin enough to have ribs show above  her breasts.  i don't think they wanted to make A4 easier to create, i think they wanted to cater to Aiko's substantial popularity.  considering Victoria will always be more popular based on being there first, and that meaning she's always the best supported (something that's self-perpetuating), i'd say Aiko actually had more popular appeal.   so this version of Victoria cuts right to the chase, and Aiko is just a few custom morphs.  now that means that they can't make some changes necessary for her to be truly anime, like a shorter torso, longer limbs, a face that can do actual anime expressions,  and teeth, hands and feet that have no definition.  but since i think most uses of Aiko were not traditional anime, i think they accurately assessed the market.  especially in terms of realism, since a lot of people liked to use Aiko realistic to create a certain look in their characters, and some did it to make Asian characters.

so it's no big deal to me either way.  DAZ is a business, and it's always  the purpose of a business to maximize profits and minimize effort.   but i wish V4 had an FBM  to add detail so i wouldn't have to postwork the hell out of her.  V3 required some work, but i never had to paint shoulder blades and definition on her back, or correct the shape of the front of her knees.  i like V4's proportions, but this is precisely why people keep saying she looks like a toon or like plastic.  but i can work around it.

the main thing that concerns me is that A4 isn't an advancement.  from V3 to Aiko, there were some noticeable improvements in joints and other aspects.  imho, D3 was a lot better than M3.  and Laura's joints were a lot better than V3's.    i mean, it makes sense, since the DAZ developers kept learning.  but A4 has those same high armpits that make V4 at least as bad (if not worse) in the shoulder department as V3.  and now, in this thread, i'm seeing problems at the joints with these morphs (which aren't very extreme) that actually make A4 less quality in terms of her body.  so it strikes me that while this route will sell more because the character (not figure - the figure is still V4) is immediately backwards compatible with lots of stuff (like WW2, even), it will mean that DAZ developers actually can't make major improvements as they make new figures because those improvements would either need more than a morph, break compatibility or both.  while it's no big deal to me to take or leave the products in the Aikopaloosa, i'm a bit concerned that the advancement i saw with Unimesh line will stagnate.
