We have established quite a bit here.

It is a button of sorts, not for clothing, it is not round it does not rotate, it is tactil for use by finger or thumb, it is not on a digicam, it is not on a camera, it is however a push button, it is a power button.  All this as been said. 

The last clue is the 'first thing I do in the morning is press this button.'
