Quote - ^^ agree 100%, and it should be a big embarassment to DAZ that they keep making really pretty boneheaded mistakes on their big rollouts. But since so many consumers are wetting themselves trying to be the first to get whatever they release, no matter the state of it, I guess they don't really need to be embarassed do they?
Err, not so fast, campers... this ain't a DAZ-only phenomenon. How many of you got Vista last year? Got Leopard when it first came out? Got Poser (any version after 4) when it came out? Bought an HD-DVD player? (okay, that one was a format war, but you get the jist...) Hell - I remember purchasing a half-dozen shiny new Hewlett-Packard DL-585's a couple jobs back (they went for about $25,000 each - came with four Opterons and 32GB of RAM apiece). I discovered to my horror that using NFS on them tended to kill off the 2nd embedded network port. Not exactly the best way to run a High-Availability critical service... HP took months to get around to fixing it (and I was stuck with purchasing seperate NICs as a workaround). Now couple all of this with the fact that the majority of folks have happily installed and used V4.2 without so much as a peep of trouble... Vicky isn't exactly a simple Lingerie set or a prop here... pushing boundaries and trying to keep compatibility at the same time isn't exactly something that everyone gets right the first time. /P (...and Anton, you should know better than to snipe in with a catty remark there, bub. You ain't perfect either.)
