I'm sorry. The temporary solution is actually a bit more complex. You need to take any simple prop into the Setup Room. Give it a bone, making sure the bone's internal name matches the prop's internal name. When you leave the Setup Room, the prop is now a figure. You can now load the hair and parent it to the former prop and when you size the parent, the hair will size along with it. When you parent the former prop to the head of a character, the hair behaves like it did before people tried to "make things simple."
