blueblott, you mention doing a city fly-by anim.
Unless you've built your own city, you might try using City Generator, (Download.com). It just generates random heightfields in black, white and gray. You'd have to use texture Mats for it to look like a city, (there's some Mats and models over at 3DCommune - you'll have to join - HUGE selection of Bryce stuff). Unless Mats are procedural that look like crap closeup.
I'd just use those cities to practice your animation skills, not for any serious work.
Of course you can make your own heightfields using any paint program.
As I remember, you can use Bryce to make heightfield cities in the Terrain Editor by selecting an option, then dragging while holding the control key (if you're using Windows).
Anyone remember how to do that?
I haven't used Blender enough to know how easy it is to model a city (I'm sure it can), but you could try Wings3D, (I've been banned, what the hell).
Fran and many, many other make some fantastic models with that free program.
Now, as to The Bryster:
I have all the Yes albums too, including their first one. Gotta burn those too when I find the time. Got 'em when I was in college. Ahh... the magic year of 1969. I'm sure some of you remember 1969. Well at least some of it. ;)
I should change my signature to the GBShaw quote about 'youth being wasted on the young'. :)
More rambling, off topic cra...err 'advice' when I feel like it. :)
