You need to try to find out what frame rate the bvh was recorded at and adjust your timeline accordingly (stretch or squeeze the keyframes)  or just try a few settings on frame rate until it looks good , then use that for your conversion factor

30 fps is typical video , 24 fps was typical film
15 fps works fine except for high speed movement and may be ok with a motion blur effect .
