Quote - We were left with the implication that Lightwave support will be forthcoming sometime down the road.  That might or might not actually happen.  Who knows?

My own biggest disappointment with Poser Pro was the silent dropping of support for Lightwave.  Unlike some others, I'm perfectly willing to part with $500 if the program did what I wanted it to do.  I have to admit that without LW support, it's less attractive.  But I also have to admit that LW support isn't a deal-breaker for me: it's just a downside.  shrug  You don't always get everything that you want.  I certainly never have.  You go forward, regardless of that fact.

Well said.  I still have my Poser 4 and Pro Pack because it is still the last version with the Lightwave importer.  As I remember it Reiss Studios was supposed to create a plug-in for it way back in version 5.  They managed to produce some for other programs and even a few updates for then but never got the Lightwave plug in off the ground.  I am very disappointed as this was going to be a huge selling point for me.  Now it will be a wait and see.  I never bought 7 and perhaps 7 Pro may not be a selling point either.  Probable Poser 8 is where I'll buy in again.

In all fairness though I thing with all the changes in Lightwave and the current rewriting of core code.  The addition of joints to the bone system etc.  It just might be a nightmare to try to write a plug in with so much changes at the core level.
