I am thinking of a specific case, yes. I used Modo to intensify the Vicky 1 head, then used TDMT to correlate the results. Almost perfect, but many dropped edges where the newly added vertices split an edge which is along that cut edge ring where the neighbors stop. In this case, the edge which should be correlated belongs to only one polygon. As far as I can tell so far, it looks like the alternate point-tri code may handle things with split edges better, but I haven't tested methodically, as I said.
On the other hand, you have a conceptual grasp of all the parameters here, while I only have a, what? Hueristic, perhaps? I only have an understanding based on testing results, for the most part. I've begun to understand cross products and dot products, but many of the underlying ideas are still mysterious....
