Also commenting on others helps. Freebies, tutorials, form activity, etc. all help
Also it helps to not upload right in the weekend or at peek hours. Lots of people will upload their work, and yours will be lost somewhere after the first 2 pages in no time.

Getting views usually depends on being noticed, being liked, using nudity or plain old being rediculously good.
