Subject: Daz Freebies?

Acadia ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2008 at 8:59 AM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 10:02 AM

I went to Daz to see what this weeks freebie is in the store.  But there isn't one showing in the store this week.

Have they changed the way they do their freebies again?

Some think that it is DazStudio 2.0 this week.

When you finished downloading Daz Studio 2.0 also don't forget to download
the extra content. You can find it in your account.

I agree ... Daz 2.0 + V 4.2 = many freebies in a little time, i think ...

Yeah, I have that link, but they don't add new content to it anymore.

The freebies are now regular store items from their store that are free, then put on sale price and then bumped up to regular price.  I didn't see one in the store for this week.

To get the added content:

You have to actually install D|S 2.x.

Then you must register it.

After that you have a free download of extra content added to your downloads, and you can buy one of a few sellect bundles for $3 (USD). Not that they have offered any premium bundles.

Ok I found it. Go to the DAZ Site and click on Support. Then go to Product Registration and register your DS. Once that's done you'll find the content in your downloads and you'll also find a coupon to pick from 1 of Seven bundles for less than $3.00! Or click this link to go right to the registration page.

Nope. Didn't get anything like that.  My firewall did give me a message that Daz Studio asked for internet access which I granted, but the program opened and that was it.

Thanks. That link worked and gave me a serial number.

However, there is nothing in my downloads area, and there is no place to enter the serial number into Daz Studio that I can see.

What is inside that extra content? I am not sure I got it or not.

Do you mean extra texture of Aiko4?

Thanks in advance

This are  included in DAZ Studio 2.0 setup

It seems that Ikendall means other stuffs appeared in DAZ download account. Is that true?

Acadia ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2008 at 11:39 PM

I sent Daz an email asking about this free "Extra Content" that is supposed to be in my downloads area. I have nothing in that area right now. Maybe it's because of the way I had to register using the link instead of going through the Daz Studio program. I don't know.

I also asked them where I'm supposed to put the serial number in Daz Studio because so far as I can see there is no  "Register" or "Enter Serial Number" area in the Help section.

I did pick up the Millennium Dog Bundle for $1.50 though   :)

Would that "free extra content" happen to be this?

http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/itemdetails/-/?item=5504

I happened to notice some images on the right side inside Daz Studio. That and some links to bundles on sale.

If it's the above link, I already have that.

Is this needed if you had alread downloaded the " 3D Bridge Starter Pack"?
Says...Required Products: DAZ Studio 2.0 but also says...product code:  ps_bn104.
I just order it and if you ever order something you already have you get a pop up or something that tells you but I did not.
I then looked at Itemized Order History and 3D Bridge Starter Pack was at the top because I just ordered it but it was listed on with the same sku code of ps_bn104  on  2007-09-08 00:48:56.
Then going to Available Downloads it has # Tries Avail. count at 7. So it has to be the very same that I already have from before so I am not going to download all the files again. I mean really there are 10 downloads in the " 3D Bridge Starter Pack" or 20 if you get both Windows and Mac versions.

thanks acadia for starting this conversation and to those who provided all the information. otherwise, i would have overlooked it. the forum has been useful in many ways and also  very entertaining.

i did the download and hope to get to know daz studio better when i have more free time. i think i already had the free stuff but i downloaded it anyway.

i bypassed the mil dog package, although i wanted it , but instead went for the safari package and added a set of poses for $2. i have been trying to get all the animals i can for my library of clipart and that filled some blanks.

what fun!

What update?  From everything I see on Phil's forum, he says that V4.1 is the same as V4.2 for purposes of WW2, and so is A4 and that no updates were needed.

Quote - Again please note that as far as Wardrobe Wizard 2 is concerned V4.2 is the same as V4.1, also that A4 is just a morph off V4.2 and therefore supported.

I read something about a jan or feb songbird mix in the new ds freebeis, but I didn;t see that in my daz downloads, so I wonder if I missed the new updated content pack?

There is an Update for WW2 just for V4.2 that includes support for her Male Morphs. Phil talks about it in this thread and says email him with proof of purchase and a request  for a link to the file for V4.2.

There's definitely supposed to be a free content package in your downloads for DS2. Frankly I think it's a rehash of the free content from previous versions though. See the attached image from my DAZ downloads.

I'd rather have a separate download :(  I don't use Daz|Studio and only downloaded it and installed it so I could get the free content and get in on that cheap bundle purchase.  As soon as I registered it I uninstalled the program.

Now I have to go and install it again and dig around and try and assemble a zip file so that I can install the stuff into my poser runtimes.

Thanks for the information :)

They have been very lax in their weekly freebies in my opinion.

I can't remember the last time I downloaded a Daz weekly freebie.

What I did was install Studio 2.0 and copied the free content over to Poser 5.
2.0 didn't work for me anyway. Uninstalled the program and kept
the content. lol.

You shouldn't have to hunt for it. I would think the one who made
