Well, if it makes you feel any better, I am setting a new world's record for "most frequent and comprehensive system mutilations for a PC owner" I recently had a wipe-out so bad, out of sudden maddness from the anticipation of the torturous path ahead, I formated 2 weeks of serious work, Knowing that only about half of it was backed-up.
