Hmmm... it just occured to me that moving stuff to a .pyd would leave out Mac support unless we had a Mac binary as well. I might be able to eventually get it compiled for Mac as well, but that's a whole other development effort ( I don't have Poser on Mac, or even Python, etc).
I'm a little surprised to hear that it works on Mac at all.. I thought tkinter was broke on Mac? Anyway, once you get a Mac-stable version, I'd stash that release off somewhere before doing any port to use features in the .pyd file.
