Subject: Vue 6 Pro studio and Poser 7

my vue has issues loading props as well as hair figures from poser - i save everything as a pz3 and load it into Vue using the import object option...

can anyone shed any light on how to fix this?...

thanks in advance.

Make sure you have the latest patch for Vue.  Imports from Poser 7 work best when everything is in the main runtime folder.  I use Poser 6 mainly because of this issue.

i do have everything in the main runtime....
i'll have to check everything is in order and see where the issue lies. i'm sure i'm the only one with this issue.... lol....

I am on a Mac and one thing I have noticed is and it varies for no reason that I can discover...when I load a pz3 and props and hair props fail to make the transition, I open the pz3 with a text editor and do a search for / and replace with :   When the / shows up in the file path name of the objects instead of the :  sometimes they don't load.  Sometimes being subjective as it is baffling in that sometimes it matters and other times it appears not to matter. You resave the pz3 after these changes and re-import. So far on files I have intermittingly had problems with, this solves the problem and everything loads. Can't hurt to give this a try and I would be very curoius if it solves your problem too.

There are other fairly recent threads on this forum on this very same topic. You might want to check it out. I never had any Poser import problems but you're not the only one having them. :-)

No, Mac here also and you are definately not the only one with P7/ Vue6 import issues !
Will try that   / to :   switch too .

If you're still having  problems try what grichter says.
I have had a couple of props not load in the past so I had to change the pz3 with the correct paths of the props with a text editor. Reloading would then import them.

i've done that and it works now..
altho there is one particular hair -hr2 that wont load and when it does (file path fixing)  it loads the wrong color lol..

thanks everyone for your advice.. its appreciated!!

check to make sure that the textures for the hair is correct. Poser allows people to just put a filename (without path) and it will try to find the file. Vue might be finding the wrong one?

maybe yeah... i'll have another go at it and open up the pz3 in textedit to ensure its pointing the right way...
thanks for all your advice guys!!
