Life throws us all things to trip over, and obstacles to overcome. Advice from a friend who has a child with Muscular Dystrophy: Take care of yourself as well! A parent goes into RED ALERT status when the child is in danger, but on prolonged problems like what you and your family are undergoing--you CAN wreck yourself by doing to much.
My friend Marisa was very emphatic about this point--Keep yourself upbeat, optimistic, and above all HEALTHY and that extra energy will pass itself on to your son. Don't worry (If at all possible) and take naps when tired and eat well as you can and that will help your family more than you might think.
Oftimes facing the challenges of prolonged disease, ATTITUDE is at least 90% of the battle. Stay upbeat and keep a heart full of love and your son will appreciate it
All we can do is give our 2p worth of advice (Which might not be worth half that!) and pray where possible. It's YOU who have the boots on the ground there--NOT us. Just don't forget to include yourself into the equation of helping your son. Things will work out, if you put your mind to it. You're a pretty innovative and intelligent person...you can figure the rest out. ^__^V,,
I'll be thinking of you..
