My second cousin had CP from birth due to a difficult labour.  His parents patiently saw him through years of rehab physio therapy, including some very sophisticated medical techniques.  He is now an adult and able to work in the administrative office of a local parish.  He can conduct a conversation, can travel on airplanes long-distance, walks unaided ( he was moving very poorly when a young child).  He has a life, simple and gentle and effective as it is for him, but he has his own life and identity.  I see him once a year at the annual family reunion.
Meanwhile, once your schedule is sorted and settled into some kind of routine, I hope you will treat art as a spa-type activity for yourself.  Might be good for you.
