as to replacing itunes with something else, nope. did'nt want itunes in the first place... it's only the fact the wife installed it on her machine thats causing the problem and annoyance and she only installed it because the update has it prechecked and she was half asleep.

gets me, and I know your going to disagree, with the installing prechecked, drivers that won't die, hijacking behaviour, quote 'The issue I had was when I clicked on link it would look for Safari and not FireFox, while FireFox was set as default browser.' .. we normally call shit like this 'adware or spyware' ...
