The Hierarchy manager has no especially useful connection to channel data that I am aware of.  While you can see parameter data (channels and their values) from Hierarchy Manager if you enable the Show All Parameters checkbox, I think most people are more comfortable working with the Parameter Dials window.

Why are you unhiding channels in the first place?  I don't know that that is anything most people will value.  I don't, although maybe other people have a different opinion.  While this is sometimes useful for things like scaling individual bodyparts in V4 (e.g. the fingers) it isn't a day-to-day necessity, and not for partial body morphs at all (PBMCC*).  Again other people may have different opinions.

Like the others, I feel that REM poses are a good indicator of polished, quality work.  I don't feel they're any harder to do than the INJ pose in the first place, so if you got that done imo you should go the extra mile (or extra bit of text editing in this case) and handle it.  Getting unwanted morph data out of a figure is otherwise a bit troublesome, more than is really needed if you take this step when you package your morphs.
