It will run on Win98, so don't worry about the OS. Sorry if I implied 3.1 was crash-free, it's not. In comparison to v.2, it is, but only in comparison. :) The symptoms you're describing indicate running low on memory. That would include RAM and ROM, so if you have the drive space, you could try increasing the size of your swap file. That won't cure the problem, but it might help reduce it.
