My maternal grandmother was named Edith May Platt, before she married my maternal grandfather William Cox Dalzell.  So I have both English and Scottish ancestry.  I'm Jewish by conversion at the age of 21. For the record, my paternal grandmother was named Harriet Hastings, before she married my paternal grandfather Charles Wesson Hoadley. David P.
