Subject: 2d object tutorial

I've gone blind or stupid (probably the latter) but I can't find a good tutorial on how to create 2d objects that will blend with scenes and not leave me with a set of squares I have to postwork away.  Anyone know where I can find one?

Do you mean like using a transparency map?? For instance, if you apply a picture of a tree to a 2d square you have to have an image in the transparency channel which is all white for the tree and all black background. Set the "blend transparency" option and voila! Is that what you mean??

Maybe use picture tubes if you have paint shop pro..or psd layers?

What Lown said.  I want the tree, but no background on the tree so I can blend them into the picture.  Thinking of the tutorial on 2d fields.  I know how to do that, but I don't know how to make 2d objects to do such a thing.

I think you'll find this helpful. They get into the info you need around page 10-11 in this tute...enjoy.. ...

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

Attached Link: 2D Pict object tut

While this tut is kinda old it shows how to take a tree image and create an alpha transparency in PShop and then how to bring it into Bryce.

You need to make a mask. Make sure the black (transparent) areas are absolutely 100% black, not just a really really dark grey. Also, make sure to put it on blend transparency.
