I admit, I have very liltle patience when I see people mistreating their pets. I've come to getting into fights with guys who had their dogs on jerk-chains and thought nothing about jerking as hard as they could when the animal inadvertantly did something the "master" didnt like.

And while I know that sometimes you have to make difficult choices, just leaving the animal behind in a locked house is a pretty lousy answer. I've always felt that when you take on that kind of responsibility, you see it through, no matter what: a pet doesnt ask for much -- food, shelter, and love. And that's pretty little compared to what they bring to the equation.
