Interesting point:
here in Scotland, the cobblestones in Glasgow and some other large towns & cities were granite, quite smooth/shiny.
Absolute evil b*stards though when icy, lol!!

Nearly all those cobblestones are gone, at leeast on the surface, in some places, when they dig the roads up for maintenance, you can see them underneath, sitll there.
