Alex, speaking as someone who's been there, if this person was serious, they may be looking for help they can't ask for. I can't explain what it is like to want the pain to end and not be able to ask for help, even though you want it. It's one of those things that's hard to understand unless you've been there, to want toend the pain so much that you are willing to kill yourself even though you don't truely want to die.
