Quote - I need advice for "worldbuilding". This is a change from my previous work with interior scenes. I am making a terrain, over which action is occuring in an area about the size of a small town. The obvious thing would be to insert a terrain, but these are limited to a certain size. Distance shots or changes in camera angle suddenly show the edge of world.
Is it any easier to use an infinite plane and put other features on it? Terrains of Spain on the plane? Ha, ha. Seriously, I am wondering what choices other people have made to avoid this "Edge of the world" problem.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
When I do something like that, I usually create a terrain edge using mountais, hills or ocean. This way if the edge shows, it just looks like a natural horizon. You can see this in a few of my renders here, Make sure to watch the scale and use depth of field to get it to look right.
