Sorry, I wasn't clear  - Vue has nothing to do with the problem.  I should never have mentioned Vue in the first sentence - I re-read it and I can see that it is strongly misleading. 

• it is just that my ultimate goal is to get my V4 figure into shape to be imported into the Vue scene.  I am posing the figure within Poser.  I will import the posed figure into Vue after I get the pose and hair correct.

So this is happening in Poser: V4 in zero pose, then parent hair to head - pose figue - hair falls off head.
