Yes Microsoft as of 2010 will no longer be supporting the different flavors of XP so many folks are making the switch to Vista.
However, also in 2010 Microsoft is suppose to be also releasing its Windows 7 (formerly know as Blackcomb and Vienna) operating system or whatever it will be called after its release in either 2010 or 2011 depends on who you are listening too.
At the moment I am trying to read as much info on this new OS it's suppose to be replacing Vista and will come in both a 32 and 64 bit version. I am reading where a lot of folks are skipping upgrading to Vista to go right to Windows 7. As for me I am not updating from XP just yet I spend more time confused than anything else about all these OS. I was going to upgrade to XP64 but I do not want to have to fight to find drivers and also even finding a copy to upgrade to. The copies I have seen available for XP64 are costing more than Vista Ultimate 64 and there is no support for this OS from Microsoft.
I know this I run a dual core 64-bit processor and in time I will need to upgrade to a 64-bit os as there is no sense in adding anymore ram (I can get 16GB on this machine) when still running a 32-bit OS.
