Well it is an unoptimized TG3TP render. The TP stands for Technical Preview which supplies the hint that the render engine might still [and is] be being tweaked. I don't see the grainyness myself. The 'image it is horribly grainy and underexposed" I don't understand as I see no underexposed...it is in a cave after all, with only the light that bounces in. I do believe there is also a considerable amount of reflection added which is also unoptimized and I personally never use it. That alone would count for the insane render time imho. Also there is water transparency[reg, ver. only] which I understand also adds an abysmal amount render time. This is in a registered ver. and I only have the free ver. which hasn't had these features implemented yet so I can't say for certain, but by the Final ver. I expect Matt and crew to have optomized these things into line and also at that point it will apparently also be a muti-threaded app, able to use more than one pipe to render with so that should speed stuff up. Finally I do agree that it is awfully long for a render, but have not seen a render of the like from any of the other scenery generators so have nought to *compare with/against....*do I sense a challenge in the offing? Do it in Vue and make me eat my words...LOL...that'd be fun...I have some tasty words....heh heh heh.. ...
