THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Totally OT, just want to tell somebody

Fifteen years after the last one, weve been made grandparents again. A little girl weighing 9lb born last night  to my youngest and her new hubby and we get to see her this afternoon. Im like a kid at Christmas.

Indeed, congrats on your newest blessing.. ...

Congrats Alan, grandchildren are fun, and a new one after so long is a blessing. Mine range from 17 to 4, so almost as much a gap between first and last.

Yes, post pics! Please

Grandkids! You can spoil them, then hand them back to the parents when the diaper needs changed. The best of both worlds. Congratulations!

pakled ( ) posted Sun, 18 May 2008 at 9:33 AM

if you're that lucky. We have the opposite problem; daughter loves being around the 20-month old when she's happy, but let her start crying, and it's off to the gramps'...;) oh well, such is life.

Congrats.

First thing I thought was, "spoil them rotten".  hehe  I guess that is a universal theme for grandparents every where.

Awwww ! What a beautiful granddaughter you have. Congrats again!

greymouser69 ( ) posted Tue, 20 May 2008 at 12:04 PM

I agree, what a beautiful baby!  Congratulations to you and your family!

Quest:
I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments expressed in that passage.  The only reason we're in no hurry here is as follows.  2 boys ages 23 and 21 who still are in the process of getting their lives in order after school and neither is currently involved even casually with anyone at this time.  1 girl who just turned 17 and is still working on finishing school herself.

Don't get me wrong, we will be extremely happy when the day comes, but for now we will continue to just enjoy what we have.  ;)

Quest ( ) posted Tue, 20 May 2008 at 2:44 PM

Greymouser69, I only posted that stanza of the poem in celebration of the pending arrival of a new and innocent infant life. No explanation was requested nor was one necessary on your behalf surrounding the private circumstances of this baby. But now that you have chosen to share these circumstances I cannot help but sympathize with you in this special situation which happens to the best of families throughout the world.

What has been done cannot be made undone. Obligatory decisions will have to be made and responsibilities meted.  My only words of consolation are that life isn’t always fair and it moves on and usually straightens itself out somehow. I wish you and your family serenity, harmony, peace of mind, and the strength and fortitude to tackle the challenges of the future.

Children are something wonderful and so I wish you and the parents my best wishes :)

Quest ( ) posted Wed, 21 May 2008 at 12:40 PM

Greymouser69, please forgive me. On reread I see that I have totally misconstrued what you were saying. I thought you were saying that one of your kids had had a lapse in judgment and was expecting a child out of wedlock while still being in school. Boy, I’m sure glad I spoke to Ang25 who said that she didn’t get that impression from reading your post. So I had to come back here to reread the post. I’m so sorry for this misunderstanding.

Quest, no worries and no offense was taken.  It is easy to misconstrue forum postings and I am certain I have done the same myself on more than one occasion.  Regardless of being misconstrued I certainly appreciate your wishing us all well in any case and we return the sentiments to you and yours as well.
