i got one on page 1 of me gallery that took 454hrs to render!! so i am more patient (stupid) it made my painter x demo runout aswell (sniffle)

i don't like the render (mine) but i had to see what it came out like, all the test renders indicated that if i bumped up the settings it should be a goodie, all i actually wanted to know was what a miki character i was workin' on would look like, and a few mats i'd made.

it took so long because nearly everything in it is reflective to a certain degree, the rusty metal on the pipes is made from mixing and displacing materials, e.g rust, chrome, flakey paint, etc... multiple times, but the end result made the rusty bits relective too when the should of been a flat matt, the pipes took long to render but the pipes reflecting in the floor took longer!!, the walls are a mix of glass and metal mats, and the walls are a corridor with volumetric lights in them (about 5 max quality settings) to leak out steam effects.the walls of the corridor which you can't even see are also reflective to help spread the light that comes through to the scene.the main scene light is GR too.

the main reason i don't like it is that it still looks like a composition piece, with the front crates and figure looking like they were added after rendering, which they weren't they were part of the scene, postwork was only a z alpha blurred for a bit of distance and the electricity, and bit of steam.

as it was only a test render, i would of rather been able to add much more detail, refine the textures, but i'd be bu**ered if i was gonna wait for another test to finish.

anyway front room got decorated though.

my longest poser render was about 90hrs (50 reflective glass steps)

and i am currently working on an image that i have been painting for nearly four months!!! eek!!
