Subject: Surely a stupid question... portable Poser?

Poser 6 and earlier do nothing with the registry, except for associating file types (which is not essential).
I have always installed Poser on a different hard drive than the OS, and I found that reinstalling the OS (full reinstall, including reformatting the system drive) only loses menu shortcuts and file associations. I could start P6 and use it right away, without reinstalling.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
