Subject: Surely a stupid question... portable Poser?

You can install Poser 7 on multiple computers. But you are allowed to run only one of those installations at a time.

So, for example, you can install Poser 7 on a laptop and on a desktop, use the laptop to set up a scene, transfer the scene to your desktop and render it on the desktop machine. That would be legitimate use and you'd need only one license.
Of course, you are not allowed to set up a new scene on the laptop while the desktop machine is rendering, and if the laptop and desktop are connected over a network, Poser would detect this situation and shut down.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
