Quote - Hmm. FaST is going to be pretty much an export dependant project, at least for the first few releases. That being the case, perhaps you might want to look at the major gripes that those who use Poser for figure work for rendering in other apps have. You are addressing a lot of them; one that could be a serious savior if possible is either a plugin or built in function that could reduce the scale of imported skin textures. The 4096x4096 body and facial textures that seem to still be the general default are far too memory intensive when imported into apps like Vue for rendering in a built scene. Being able to drop such a texture set down in increments would let the artist adjust to the minimum needed without having to import into photoshop or gimp or whatever. With an option to save the reduced texture with some kind of simple addition to the filename to identify it as a reduced texture, it would speed the figure setup process considerably...

Shouldn't present much of a problem really, plenty of C libraries out there in the open source realm that allow you to do easily accomplish such tasks.  What would be helpful though is a list of recommended default settings for such downsampling, provided you have the time.    Since this is something you've apparently had some experience with.

-Never fear, RenderDog is near!  Oh wait, is that a chew toy?  Yup. ok, nevermind.. go back to fearing...
