An inbuilt application UVW mapping tool might also be a good thing, similar to Max's UVunrap modifier that lets one to map an object while modeling it. One could supposedly then take figures mapped to one configuration, such as Vicky 2 and remap her to take V3 textures and thus do away with the need for texture converters.
