RorrKonn: I've never used DS, actually, so I have no idea what you're talking about. If it's based on Catmull-Clark, it should work well. I've had trouble with Poser's polygon subdivision, which is why I have to smooth the mesh shown above once before exporting it for Poser.

Wings does regular Catmull-Clark, as far as I know. So n-gons with any n are fine. My mesh has only quadrangles, though. ZBrush doesn't like non-quadrangles, or at least didn't when I started back in 2005.

I have to say that I haven't been following things much for the last two years. I'm slowly catching up now on developments in the Poserverse and in the CG community in general.

I'm glad to see other people working on new figures. It would be very helpful to be able to share experiences with the Poser setup and any special tricks and techniques people may come up with.

phantom3D: Rigging is definitely tricky and strange in Poser. I've heard faint rumours about drawing weight maps in other applications, but I think it's all just legend. :-) So far I've done the abdomen, chest, neck and head, and it went pretty well. Arms and legs will be more trouble, I suppose. The tutorials at quinlor.de were really helpful, by the way, and saved me many headaches.
