Subject: Firefly render bucket lines?

Attached Link: Firefly render bucket lines?

I am getting very noticable tonal changes along vertical/horizontal lines using the Firefly render engine - perhaps at the borders of the render buckets.

An example is a raw w.i.p. render I posted last night (link attached) - notice especially the vertical line above her left eye, and the horizontal line between nose and mouth.

Has anyone else seen this, and if so do you know how to correct it in Poser? I hate having to correct render faults like this in postwork, but maybe it's just a shortcoming of Firefly.

Thanks for any thoughts / advice.

I've never noticed anything like that on my renders.

Can you post a screen capture of your render settings window?

Also, are you getting this with all renders, or just with that one image? If it's just that one image, it might be something peculiar about that skin texture.  Are there material room shaders involved?

Are you using Poser 5? There were a problem with displacement and/or bump at the bucket border. This Problems are gone in Poser 6 and 7.

Is this a P5 render?

You gave no details, so this may not apply.

It has been found that if a bucket touches a shader containing reflect or refract nodes with a raybias that is very low, you can get bucket-bounded artifacts from AO.

These things sound like they should have nothing to do with each other. Nevertheless... it happens.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Acadia - this is the first render I've actually noticed it on. As it happens, I was playing around trying (and failing) to get some decent reflections on the eyes and some life into the whites, so bagginsbill's pointer looks like it hits the mark. There must be a tutorial on setting up eyes somewhere.. better go looking this evening.

bantha - I'm using P7.

bagginsbill - yup, that looks like it might be the problem... I'll give it a try and report back.

Thanks everyone for your help!
