The message about allocating memory is a red herring - you don't need to do that, and can't anyway on Windows. It's a hangover from the Mac origins of the Poser code. What it really means is "something bad has happened for which there is no error message". :/ As to what that might be, I don't know; but there may be a Vista issue. Some of these strange problems go away with attention to the swap file on earlier Windows versions. I suppose the procedure may be different for you, so I'll leave the floor to those who use Vista.
