Bryce terrains always generate textures object top. They don't map parametrically. The steeper your slope the more distorted your texture image. Make a mesa with canyonland texture in bryce and the export will look terrable.
You can remap with another program. I prefer UV Mapper but there are free programs available like blender that can do it.
