just to reassure y'all, it occurred to me that the download manager for the particular
user (me) of the aforementioned browser may have been disabled by some other site or action,
hence no need for concern. it was likely just a coincidence that the download manager for
that user of that browser was disabled around the same time as the site problems (if any)
developed.
I just tried the same browser on the same machine with a different user (standard mac
troubleshooting technique) and said browser's download manager is o.k. after visiting this
site. if any folks are experiencing download problems from here, I daresay they'll set it right
ASAP. I just tried to download the floribunda freebie and it downloaded/expanded o.k.
