When you load a texture map, it sometimes needs an interpolation method in order to smooth things out. Try this...
Go into the function editor and highlight the square that has your image in it. In the window that comes up, you will see 'interpolation' on the right. Choose bilinear or bicubic. See if that doesn't help a bit.
But like Trepz and fixer say, scale can also be a major factor...
