I personally have not submitted any work to DAZ so I have no experience with them to compare with.

The ability and talent to transfer ideas the computer screen is a fine thing to see and as far as getting a pat on the back from the responders goes, I think they are expressing their admiration for your work with you more so than patting you on the back for it.
